Aveda - A Green Beauty Company

The Alaska Energy Fair was a great event! What an exciting and inspiring time to be living in.
Being beside tents with Windmills and Prius's - we got the question, "so why is a salon here?" And this is where we tell you!
Meg Allen Salon is an Aveda Concept Salon. Which means we follow the practices that all Aveda Salons follow.

So what does this mean for you?

We're the first beauty company manufacturing with 100% windpower.
Products are plant derived and our color is 99% naturally plant derived.
We source our ingredients from traditional communities around the world.
Aveda strives to minimize packaging and is thoughtful about the packaging they do use.

As a salon we recycle everything. everything. bottle caps included. we've gotten rid of paper towels and have gone strictly to washable materials.

check out the website for more information. http://aveda.aveda.com/aboutaveda/green_ingredients.asp

Alaska Energy Fair

come join us ath the ALASKA ENERGY FAIR.

great education, music and vendors.

We'll have a tent, so stop by and say hi!

THIS saturday. 11 am - 9 pm.

We Welcome ....

Grier McGarvey

Grier came to us from Gregory, Michigan looking to take on a “New Frontier” in her life and career.

She graduated from Beauty School in Aiea, Hawaii and a year later was working as a Team Leader at the Aveda Institute in Las Vegas. She then launched her own career working at Ashka Salon and Spa, and the later Essential Elegance Salon and Day Spa. She’s had numerous educational classes and feels it’s played a vital role in the stylist she is, and who she is going to become.
When the shear’s aren’t in her hand Grier enjoys taking her dog on hikes, going on road trips and spending time with loved ones.
